District One Hospital , along with other Allina Health locations around Minnesota, is imposing visitor restrictions due to the increase of influenza cases across the state. The Minnesota Department of Health released its latest report on the number of cases of influenza at the end of February, showing an increase of 64 percent in hospitalizations over the previous week.

Storming ahead amid hospital budget concerns, the new District One Hospital cancer center project is officially under way, slated for completion by early March. The new cancer center in Faribault, Minnesota, is a partnership between District One and Allina Hospitals & Clinics.
