Your safety is our top priority

Securing your safety. Allina Health maintains strict policies and robust resources for the physical safety of our patients, visitors and employees. We are currently evaluating and strengthening security at every clinic and hospital throughout our system.

Visiting a patient

General visiting hours end at 8 p.m.

The following are general guidelines for visitors:

  • You may not smoke in patient rooms or anywhere on the hospital campus.
  • You must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.
  • No more than four visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time.
  • People with colds, sore throats, or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
  • Visits should be kept short.
  • Maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • You may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
  • Latex balloons are prohibited in the hospital.

Hours may be restricted for patients who are in intensive care, coronary care or an isolation area. Fathers and siblings of newborns are welcome to visit anytime; other family and friends should visit during visiting hours.

Information desks can be found in near the main entrance, Emergency Room, Surgery and Outpatient Center and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.

Admitting

The main admitting desk for inpatient and outpatient care is in the lobby near the main entrance. At night, the Emergency Department registration desk handles admitting. If you are coming to Buffalo Hospital for surgery, proceed directly of the Surgery and Outpatient Center. 

Wireless internet access

We offer GuestNet, free Wi-Fi wireless high-speed internet access for our patients and visitors in all areas of the hospital.

Amenities

Tobacco-free campus

In keeping with the Buffalo Hospital purpose of promoting health and healing, tobacco usage is not permitted on the campus. 

Parking

Free parking is available in the lots outside the main lobby entrance (purple lot) with additional parking outside the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and the Surgery Center (orange lot).

Emergency parking is located in the lot off of Anderson Avenue (red lot).
