Deaths from liver disease have risen sharply in the U.S., and a study shows the biggest factor is drinking alcohol. The study, published in the British Medical Journal, found a 65 percent increase in deaths from cirrhosis of the liver from 1999 to 2016.
The biggest increase is among millennials ages 25 to 34—deaths in this group are rising 10.5 percent per year.
