Coping with self harm
Self harm, like cutting or burning, is a way that some teens and young adults deal with emotional pain and manage uncomfortable feelings. It’s hard for people on the outside to understand, but self harm should never be viewed as simply a way to get attention. In fact, often those who engage in self harm do so because it’s so difficult to ask for the help they need. This podcast describes what might lead a person to hurt themselves in these ways and what you can do to help.
