The vision of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is to partner with people of all ages and abilities to pursue their goals to live, work, learn and play. Annually, over 2,500 volunteers give 59,000 hours of their time and talents to support a continuum of care from the clinical setting to adaptive outdoor recreation. Our goal is to partner with people to achieve their highest level of independence, health and wellness. We do this by offering excellent services, innovative programs, ground-breaking research and barrier-shattering advocacy. We actively seek and value volunteers with diverse perspectives and life experiences. We will work with you to find your best match.

Under the guidance of an aquatics specialist, volunteers work with youth and adults with disabilities. Volunteers assist participants to help them focus on water adjustment, basic swimming skills, water games and having fun in our warm water pool. Aquatics classes are available in our Stillwater and Golden Valley campuses. Programs include NeuroSplash, water activities and children’s swim lessons.
In team fitness classes, volunteers assist an energetic group of individuals working on their wellness goals. Volunteers are matched with participants to assist them with individualized fitness workouts, mentoring independence and providing encouragement. We have a variety of opportunities to support our in-house operations, including guest services, transitional rehabilitation program support, clerical assistance, peer mentoring, HandiHam Radio (remote program), and ABLE (Activity Based Locomotive Exercise).
