[Allina Newsroom, December 17, 2009]   Allina clinics, including Aspen Medical Group , Quello Clinic and Allina Medical Clinic , are now making H1N1 flu vaccine available to all its patients provided that individual clinics have adequate supply of H1N1 vaccine on hand. "Allina’s clinics have adopted the Minnesota Department of Health’s latest recommendations that the H1N1 vaccine be made available to all who seek the immunization,” said Lynn Berg, Allina’s director for clinics risk and safety.

[Allina Newsroom, December 10, 2009]   The River Falls Area Hospital Foundation is launching a fundraising campaign to purchase a LUCAS™ Chest Compression System—the latest in life-saving cardiac technology—for the hospital's emergency department. LUCAS™ is a cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machine that does chest compression better than a human.

[Allina Newsroom, December 10, 2009]   Pilot Glenn Martig, of the Experimental Aircraft Association, delivered toys to Mercy Hospital’s Family Care Unit this week. This is the 19th year that Martig has brought holiday toys to the hospital from the EAA’s Tree of Hope program.

[Allina Newsroom, November 18, 2009]   Dr. Timothy Sielaff, president of Allina Hospitals & Clinics’ Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, released the following statement on the United States Preventive Services Task Force recommendation on routine screening mammography in women aged 40 to 49 years. The USPSTF is one of several different groups offering screening mammography recommendations.

[Allina Newsroom, November 09, 2009]   Allina Hospitals & Clinics will award the City of New Brighton the Heart Safe Community designation at this evening’s city council meeting at 6:30 p.m. New Brighton is the first Minnesota city to earn this designation. It recognizes the city’s efforts to prepare its staff and citizens to recognize when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest and how to respond.

[Allina Newsroom, October 17, 2009]   Allina Hospitals & Clinics has placed limits on visitation to its hospital birth centers and pediatrics units due the H1N1 virus. Effective immediately, these new limitations have been placed on visitation to Allina hospital birth centers and pediatrics units: •    Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. •    Visitors must sign in and be screened for influenza-like illness •    Sibling visitors must be age 5 or older •    Non-sibling visitors must be age 16 or older •    Maximum of three visitors per patient at a time Visitors must follow strict hand-hygiene procedures by washing hands or using the antibacterial foam provide throughout Allina hospitals.
