[Fridley Public Schools, April 24, 2019]   A record-breaking 450 bicycles were given to Fridley Public Schools families at the third annual Free Bikes for Kids event with Allina Health , hosted at R.L. Stevenson Elementary on April 13, 2019. Each participating child and adult was fitted for a helmet and matched with a bike in the gymnasium, then headed to the cafeteria which served as a bike mechanic shop for the day.

[Fox 9, April 13, 2019]   Thousands of kids who otherwise might not be able to afford it, now have a freshly cleaned and refurbished bike. Hundreds of Allina Health volunteers fitted donated bikes and new helmets to the kids just in time for spring through the Free Bikes 4 Kidz program.

[Owatonna People's Press, October 08, 2018]   With about a half hour still on the clock on Saturday, volunteers at the Free Bikes 4 Kidz event at the Owatonna Hospital had already loaded about 150 bikes — an average of about 40 bikes an hour and enough to fill three trucks full — and still had some left to load up. “I assume we’ll get some more,” said Natalie Ginter, the Allina Health director of community engagement for the Owatonna Hospital and the one coordinating Saturday’s bicycle collection at the hospital.

[KARE 11, October 01, 2018]   On Saturday, Oct. 6, Free Bikes 4 Kidz and Allina Health will be collecting donations of new and gently used bikes at 50 Allina Health locations across the Twin Cities from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over the last 10 years, FB4K has given away 50,000 bikes to kids from underserved families in our area.

[KARE 11, January 01, 0001]   Grey skies and a little rain didn't keep people from coming to more than 50 Allina Health sites to donate used bikes for Free Bikes 4 Kidz. It was the seventh year that Allina has teamed up with Free Bikes 4 Kidz to collect donated bikes.

[Star Tribune, July 15, 2017]   On a steamy summer day perfect for wheeling around the neighborhood, excited kids snapped up bicycles donated by Allina Health on Saturday in Minneapolis’ Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. Allina and its community partners dispersed 108 bikes at the Brian Coyle Community Center in response to a frustrated social media post by activist Abdirizak Bihi about the lack of bikes for children in his community.
