[Fox 9 News, September 15, 2012]   Grants from Allina Health are helping one Minneapolis community get healthy by bringing in local chefs to turn community gardens into tasty events for residents. Chef Brian Hauke, of the Red Stag Supper Club, and Ricky Venson, who sits on the board of directors for the McKinley Community CSA, came to the FOX 9 Kitchen to share a fresh, healthy salad to celebrate the end of summer.

The county received a $2,500 grant from Neighborhood Health Connection, which supports wellness and promotes healthy lifestyles one neighborhood at a time.

[Owatonna People's Press, August 23, 2012]   Residents of Owatonna are being encouraged to turn off their television set and go visit the city’s parks during the waning days of summer and the first days of autumn. The Owatonna Park Passport Program is a four-week long program in the month of September that is designed to get families out into the parks and hike the trails while searching for clues.

[KARE-TV, July 22, 2012]   Once served by their own grocery store, residents in Rockford and Greenfield, just west of the Twin Cities, are now driving at least ten miles to get fresh fruits and vegetables. With the high price of gas, many don't want to do that anymore so some are starting up a member owned food co-op.
