[Owatonna People's Press, October 08, 2018]   With about a half hour still on the clock on Saturday, volunteers at the Free Bikes 4 Kidz event at the Owatonna Hospital had already loaded about 150 bikes — an average of about 40 bikes an hour and enough to fill three trucks full — and still had some left to load up. “I assume we’ll get some more,” said Natalie Ginter, the Allina Health director of community engagement for the Owatonna Hospital and the one coordinating Saturday’s bicycle collection at the hospital.

At a roundtable discussion Tuesday morning at the Steele County History Center, Allina staff heard from city, county and school district officials, South Central Human Relations Center social workers and case managers, Koda Living Community employees and nonprofit executives, among others, all weighing in on what needs they see unmet in areas ranging from chronic pain management to dental health.

With a score of 86, Owatonna Hospital is performing better than many facilities nationwide, in Minnesota and similar size facilities.

[Owatonna People's Press, July 30, 2013]   Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Owatonna has been given its second opportunity to promote social connections and increase healthy behaviors in the community. The church received a $5,000 Healthy Activity Grant from the Allina Health Neighborhood Health Connection program — the only organization that received the maximum amount in the south region.

[Owatonna People's Press, June 01, 2013]   At 9:20 a.m. Saturday, 25 Owatonna Hospital, part of Allina Health, employees and their families packaged the last meal for the community. On Saturday, 40 Allina Health locations -- including Owatonna, Faribault and Northfield -- packaged 200,000 meals for neighbors in need in Minnesota and western Wisconsin to promote healthy eating on a budget and kick off the 2013 Neighborhood Health Connection grant application process.
