[WCCO-AM and KSTP-TV, January 01, 0001] Cancer experts agreed with actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie's decision to have her ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed because she carries a genetic mutation BRCA1 that significantly increases the risk of ovarian cancer. In Minnesota, Michaela Tsai, MD, a breast cancer researcher and hematologist and oncologist with the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, said surgery is the best way to prevent ovarian cancer.
