Rob Portinga, after weight-loss surgery

[Twelve TV, October 08, 2013] Rob Portinga spends his Saturday mornings on the radio airwaves, educating people about health and wellness on "The Wake Up Call" on AM 950.

"It allows me to help educate folks in a fun way I think," Portinga said. However, just five years ago, that's a job Portinga never imagined he'd have.

"To be honest, I don't even know how heavy I was. I was probably somewhere over 380 pounds," Portinga said.

After trying numerous methods to lose weight, Portinga decided to get gastric bypass surgery to decrease the size of his stomach.
