ADHD drug shortage

[KARE11, April 18, 2011] A nationwide ADHD drug shortage has hit Minnesota. Pharmacies have had a difficult time filling prescriptions for methylphenidate hydrochloride and amphetamine mixed salts, which are generic versions of Ritalin and Adderall.

Ann Byre, director of Allina Community Pharmacies, said they have been short on the drugs for about two months but expect to be fully re-stocked in about six to eight weeks or even sooner.
