Medical clinic project makes history

[Savage Pacer, September 17, 2010] For Tom Kearney, history repeated itself this week, warts and all.

The occasion was Tuesday’s (Sept. 14) groundbreaking ceremony for the Savage Medical Building. Little did he know, Kearney’s place in history at this week’s event occurred back in 1960, when his mother made him go to Savage’s first doctor to get warts removed from his legs before he started first grade.

It turns out Kearney was one of Dr. Eugene Kuz’s first patients, so it seemed fitting that he should be among the group turning a spade of dirt for the city’s first state-of-the-art medical building on the southwest corner of county roads 42 and 27.

The Savage Medical Building is a two-story, 32,000-square-foot facility that will provide new clinics for Allina for its Crossroads Clinic, currently located in Prior Lake, and to Quello Clinic, which will move from Southcross Shoppes..
