[Allina News, April 16, 2010] A celebration featuring artists and 350 works of art will open the International Art Show by Artists with Disabilities Thursday, April 22, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event is public and free and will be held at Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, 800 East 28th Street in Minneapolis. The Art Show is free and runs through May 21, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Sister Kenny's art show is a 47-year tradition. It is one of only a handful of judged art shows in the country for those with a physical or mental impairment. Opening night festivities include an opportunity to meet many of the artists, view and purchase their work. Proceeds from the show are returned to the artists.
