Cardiologist Dr. Ken Baran now seeing patients in Baxter, Crosby, Aitkin and Staples

BAXTER, Minn. (August 25, 2020) — Minneapolis Heart Institute is excited to announce that interventional cardiologist Dr. Ken Baran is transitioning his clinic services from St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd, to Minneapolis Heart Institute locations in Baxter, Crosby, Aitkin and Staples.

Dr. Baran was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  Dr. Baran returned to Minnesota, where he completed his fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Baran’s clinical interests include office-based cardiology, coronary artery disease therapies (angioplasty and stenting), valvuloplasty and catheter-based procedures to close atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovales. Dr. Baran has been a principal investigator conducting clinical research trials in the field of acute coronary syndromes and interventional cardiology.

In his leisure time, Dr. Baran enjoys skiing, fishing, hunting, gardening and mowing the lawn.

“I look forward to continuing to provide cardiology care to the Brainerd Lakes area at the four Minneapolis Heart Institute locations in Baxter, Crosby, Aitkin and our new location in Staples,” Dr. Baran said. 

Dr. Baran will be seeing clinic patients Monday-Friday at these four locations.
