Grateful mother donates more than 600 ounces of breastmilk

OWATONNA, Minn. 2/13/2019 Thank you more than 600 times! Mankato mom Deb Bobendrier has donated more than 600 ounces of her own breast milk to Artemis’ Milk Depot at Owatonna Hospital. Artemis' Milk Depot opened just last November to provide donated mothers' milk for mothers that may not be able to produce breast milk for their own baby.

Having used donor milk when her son was in the special care nursery, Bobendrier was grateful for the ability to donate her milk.

“I never intended to donate milk until my son decided he wouldn’t drink any of my frozen milk,” says Bobendrier. “I was left with a freezer full of milk and a sad heart. I’ve encouraged others to look into [milk donation] as an option for excess milk, because the time spent for the approval and donation process is so, so worth it.”

Artemis’ Milk Depot is located at Owatonna Hospital, 2250 NW 26th Street in Owatonna. To utilize Artemis’ Milk Depot as a drop-off location, please register to become a breast milk donor.
