Allina Health's Mercy hospital named in 100 Top Hospitals® study by IBM Watson Health™

COON RAPIDS, Minn. 3/25/2019  Allina Health is proud to announce Mercy Hospital has been named in the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® study by IBM Watson Health™. Formerly known as Truven Health Analytics® 100 Top Hospitals, this study spotlights the best-performing hospitals in the U.S. based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data.

"It is gratifying for our exceptional care teams throughout Mercy Hospital to be recognized by IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals study. It's an honor that reflects their intense focus on providing quality care to the patients and communities we serve,” said Sara Criger, president, Mercy Hospital. “Having our hospital recognized shows what's possible when exceptional people work together for a common purpose."

Overall, the Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals study found that the top-performing hospitals in the country achieved better risk-adjusted outcomes while maintaining both a lower average cost per beneficiary and higher profit margin than non-winning peer group hospitals.

"The country’s best hospitals have proven that an unrelenting focus on quality, supported by constant measurement against peer performance benchmarks, can drive improved outcomes while reducing costs and growing profit margins," said Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president at 100 Top Hospitals Programs, IBM Watson Health.
