Allina Health announces significant upgrade to Cambridge Medical Center

CAMBRIDGE, Minn. (September 12, 2019) — As part of our commitment to provide comprehensive care to the residents of Isanti County and surrounding communities, Allina Health is pleased to announce plans to install in a new state-of-the-art heating, cooling and ventilation (HVAC) system for Cambridge Medical Center.

The new air handler system will take approximately two weeks to install and will improve temperature control and comfort for patients and staff. The total cost of the update is $786,000.

In a hospital setting, special consideration is given to HVAC system design, maintenance and repair. As the Cambridge Medical Center campus continues to develop, a bigger HVAC system will keep air quality high and provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff alike.

During the upgrade and installation, temporary changes will be in place to accommodate construction.

• Beginning Sept. 17, 2019, Labor and Delivery (Obstetric) services will be sending patients for deliveries to Mercy Hospital – Mercy Campus, a part of Allina Health, in Coon Rapids.
• This temporary diversion is expected to end Oct. 2, 2019.
• The Mother Baby Center at Mercy with Children’s Minnesota will work closely with our physicians at Cambridge Medical Center, offering labor and delivery care for routine and high-risk pregnancies, home health services, integrative services, newborn care, and pain management services with non-medicinal options.

Cambridge Medical Center, a part of Allina Health, is a regional health care facility providing comprehensive health care services to more than 30,000 residents in Isanti County. The medical center is comprised of a large multi-specialty clinic and an 86-bed hospital located on one large campus. A same day clinic, retail pharmacy and eye care center are also located in the facility.
