District One Hospital announces new Emergency Department medical director
FARIBAULT, Minn. 7/30/2018 — District One Hospital welcomes Tom Horejsi, MD as medical director to our Emergency Department.
Horejsi is part of Emergency Care Consultants (ECC) and for the past eight years has worked at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health. During his time at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, he served as education director and advanced practice provider medical director.
Horejsi attended University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. for his undergraduate degree and University of Minnesota for medical school. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2003 and emergency medicine at Boston Medical Center in 2010. In between his residency training, he worked in San Diego, New Zealand and Lake Tahoe.
As medical director, Horejsi will be responsible for overseeing the operations and quality of care provided in the Emergency Department and provide leadership, medical direction, education and oversight of emergency services at District One Hospital. In his role, he will also foster a good working relationship between medical staff, Emergency Department staff and hospital leaders.

Horejsi officially started as medical director on July 17, 2018.
