David Joos named Abbott Northwestern Hospital Operations Executive

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. 1/26/2018  David Joos has been named to the newly created position of operations executive at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. His first day will be Monday, Feb. 5.

Joos has more than 20 years of diverse health care administration experience in several complex health care delivery systems. Most recently, he has served as division vice president of operations at KentuckyOne Health in Louisville, Ky., where he was responsible for operations at Jewish Hospital, a highly specialized tertiary and quaternary referral center, and oversaw access and care coordination across the delivery system’s 13 hospitals.

"David’s record of leadership has positively engaged others and consistently delivered excellence in his previous work," said Tom O’Connor, interim president, Abbott Northwestern Hospital. "In this new role, David will provide a new level of needed support for the ongoing operation of this complex and expansive medical center, working in partnership with the president and leaders, staff and physicians at Abbott Northwestern and Allina Health."

In addition to his work in Kentucky, Joos has experience leading patient access, outpatient services and operations at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., and OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio, where his strengths included business development, change management and leadership development. He has a Master’s of Business Administration from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
